New York State of Mind

We know this has nothing to do with Japan but we were back home for Thanksgiving and to get married so we're getting to some important chapters.

There's tons of fun to be had in NYC around the holidays. We went out for a nice dinner with Nicolita's parents for their 40th wedding anniversary after checking out the Christmas Festival at Union Square Park.

Then Chris and his brother (Vinny) met up with the Atlanta, GA cousins (in town for the wedding) for a family style dinner and a few bottles of red wine at Puglia. The night was capped off by a 1st time subway ride for some people (and grumbling from one veteran - who shall remain unnamed - who wanted to take a taxi instead).

The next stop was to see The Tree (you better not ask which tree) followed by a quick elevator ride to the Top of the Rock...the only observation deck in NY with a view of the Empire State Building. It was a clear night but it gets pretty darn cold at the top of a high rise building in late November. Brrrr.

It was then off to bed with visions of the rehearsal dinner dancing through every one's head.
